Deborah Cox is a Juno award-winning singer who sometimes acts. Her acting has brought two Genie Award nominations. Her range, not just of notes, but of styles, has seen her perform in huge concert halls, sweaty underground clubs, and on Broadway. It was on February 17, 2004 that she made her Broadway debut in the Elton John-Tim Rice musical Aida. Often when she`s not in a movie, one of her songs is in the soundtrack. In 2001, her hit “Absolutely Not” was featured in Dr. Dolittle 2, and in 2005, her voice was featured in the movie Hotel Rwanda in a song entitled “Nobody Cares.” In December 2022 it was announced that Cox would be added to the Canada’s Walk of Fame in Toronto’s downtown entertainment district.
