Dakota Avery Goyo began his career appearing in television commercials at a very early age. When he isn’t working, or in school, he enjoys biking, soccer, skiing, golfing and horseback riding. He lives in Toronto with his parents and his two brothers, Dallas and Devon, also actors. He beat out 2,000 other young hopefuls to win the part of Hugh Jackman’s son in the 2011 DreamWorks feature, Real Steel. Dakota Goyo played the young Thor in the feature Thor, costarring Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Kat Dennings and Colm Feore, who was also born on August 22nd. Goyo picked up a Young Artist Award for the 2011 feature, Real Steel and was nominated for a Saturn Award for the same film. In 2012 the young actor was nominated for an Emmy Award in the Outstanding Performer in a Children’s Series category for his work on The Haunting Hour. He stars in the feature Midnight Sun, which was partially shot in Churchill, Manitoba and directed by Roger Spottiswoode.
