Conrad Bain

Conrad Stafford Bain and his identical twin brother, Bonar, were typical Canadian kids. For example, Conrad played hockey and enjoyed speed skating. In his first year of High School he discovered acting and went on to study at the Banff School of Fine Arts. Interrupted by World War II (he served in the Canadian Army) he resumed his theatrical training after the war at New York`s American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Primarily a stage actor he appeared at the Stratford Festival and made his Broadway debut in October of 1956 in the short-lived play, Sixth Finger in a Five Finger Glove. A few of his other Broadway performances include roles in Candide, Advise and Consent, Hot Spot, The Cuban Thing, Uncle Vanya and many others.
