Christianne Hirt began her acting career in 1982 playing opposite James Garner, Colleen Dewhurst, and John Lithgow in the feature, Glitterdome. She costarred as Lill opposite Russell Crowe, in the World War Two feature For The Moment. For her role as Lorie LaRoche in Skate, Hirt won international recognition and a Gemini nomination for Best Dramatic Actress. Her critically acclaimed performance as Jennie in the feature film, Heart of the Sun, brought her the 1999 AMPIA-Best Actress Award. An Alumna of The Women in the Director’s Chair program at The Banff Centre, she directed the short film Craving, which screened at the Calgary International Film Festival in 2005.
