Chief Leonard Henry George was the son of actor Chief Dan George and was usually credited as Len George or Leonard George. Like his father he was also chief of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation (formerly known as the Burrard Indian Band or Burrard Band). A Coast Salish native of North Vancouver, B.C. he had a long battle with throat cancer and died on December 6, 2017 as the result of a heart attack.
