Carolyn Taylor

Carolyn Taylor is an award-winning writer, artist, actor, and comedian. She honed her skills in political and social satire at The Second City in Toronto, writing and starring in five original revues. Taylor is the recipient of two Canadian Screen Awards for Best Show and Best Writing for Baroness von Sketch Show (2017), and has won a Canadian Comedy Award, Canadian Screen Award and Gemini nomination for her past work on This Hour Has 22 Minutes. She has written sketch, political commentary and episodes for Canada’s major networks including senior writer for CBC’s The Hour and contributing writer on CBC Radio’s This Is That and Gavin Crawford’s Because News.She has multiple credits in theatre, film, and television and performs regularly at comedy venues around Toronto including Dawn Patrol, West End Girls, Wayward, Wand Portal and The She-Dot Festival. If that’s not enough to keep her busy, Taylor is an artist and member of the experimental art sound quartet Mintz, with whom she has enjoyed residencies at The Banff Centre for the Arts and Gibraltar Point.
