Cara Ricketts is a stage and film actor whose credits include the mini-series The Book of Negroes. She first came to notice in Toronto when she appeared in Obsidian Theatre’s Born Ready. Other theatre credits include several seasons as a leading lady at Ontario’s Stratford Festival appearing in Shakespeare’s Macbeth with Colm Feore, as well as having roles in productions of Julius Caesar, A Winter’s Tale, As you Like it, Twelfth Night and Harold Pinter’s The Homecoming opposite Brian Dennehy. She played the lead role of Isabella in Measure for Measure for Theatre for a New Audience in New York, and more recently appeared in Time and the Conways on Broadway. Other selected credits include Queenie in The Wild Party (Acting Up Stage) for which she was nominated for a Dora Award for Outstanding Performance; Hedda in Hedda Gabler (Necessary Angel); Marianne in Constellations and Susan in Race (Canadian Stage), opposite Jason Priestley. She plays the role of Lilly Rue in the 2019 reboot of the CBC series Street Legal.
