Brigitte Paquette became interested in acting and the theater when she was about 12 years old. Her first appearance in a movie wasn’t until the 1989 feature, Un autre homme. The following year she met Lily Parker at the Actors Studio in New York who encouraged Paquette to work in English, but most of her career has been in French. One notable exception was her role in the made-for-TV movie, For Love Alone: The Ivana Trump Story produced for CBS. In 1991 she played the lead in Requiem pour un beau sans-coeur which went on to be named Canadian film of the year at the Toronto International Film Festival in 1992. Despite a busy film and television career, Paquette has always remained connected to the stage. But she was also interested in and studied psychology too. Paquette is perhaps best known for her work in the series, Omerta which brought her a prix Gémeaux in 1998.
