Brenda Kamino

Brenda Kamino is primarily known for her work on stage. She is a veteran of the Shaw Festival, but has also created roles in new plays at such theatres as Theatre Passe Muraille, Factory Theatre and Young Peoples’ Theatre in Toronto as well as the Prairie Theatre Exchange in Winnipeg and Alberta Theatre Projects in Calgary. Her theatrical career has taken her from the National Arts Centre in Ottawa to the Citadel in Edmonton in plays as varied as Naomi’s Road to M. Butterfly, which was nominated for a Dora Award. On her website she states, “I have been an artist all my life – a singer at six; a tap dancer at seven, a musician at eight, an artist at fourteen and an actor at seventeen.” Brenda Kamino played the role of Dot Yasuda in 13 episodes of Carter between 22018 and 2019.
