Booth Savage

Booth Savage graduated with an MFA from York University in 1992. Best known to Canadian TV viewers for his role as Team Canada head coach Harry Sinden in the CBC miniseries Canada Russia ’72. In 1987 he won a Gemini Award “Best Actor in a Leading Role” as Felix Batterinski in Alan King`s The Last Season. As a stage actor he is an original member of Toronto`s Theatre Passe Muraille and Toronto Free Theatre. He has performed in over 100 plays in every province and territory in Canada, with the exception of Yukon. In February of 2009 to celebrate Valentine`s Day, Booth Savage and his wife Janet-Laine Green appeared in the E.A. Rawlinson Centre for the Arts production of Love Letters by A. R. Gurney. The Centre is located in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. In the play only 2 people appear on stage. They read to each other from a book of letters.At first, the two exchange notes and Valentines in grade school, soon replaced by letters and picture postcards, each of which retains the characters’ idiosyncracies. His credits as a playwright include Savage Heat, DADS, Reversing Falls, Pillow Talk, Pajama Games and This Bloody Business.
