Billy Two Rivers spent 24 years as a pro-wrestler. He made his debut in a Detroit ring in 1953 and retired in 1976. He acted occasionally and became interested in band council politics. In 1978, he became a leader of the Mohawk nation on the Kahnawà:ke reservation. He played a major role in blockading the Honoré Mercier Bridge during the 1990 Oka Crisis. He was 87 when he died at the Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre in Kahnawà:ke.
