Billie Mae Richards

Bille Mae Richards is remembered for providing the voice of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer in the 1964 television special that starred Burl Ives as Sam the Snowman. She was credited as Billy Richards possibly to hide the fact that she was a woman. Richards was also the voice of Tenderheart Bear in the first two Care Bears movies and that of Brightheart Raccoon in the Nelvana-produced Care Bears television series. Richards died after suffering a series of strokes.
