Barbara Beall was credited as Barbara Kozicki for much of her career. She may have been born in British Columbia but the actor and dancer grew up in Calgary, Alberta. She began her acting career at the age of 15 in the Patrick McLaughlin film Panorama. After graduating from high school, she traveled Europe for a year where she completed the Summer Language Program at the University of Krakow (Poland) and attended the 1998 Edinburgh Festival in Scotland where she first developed her fascination for the art of Poi. With over twelve years experience as a Fire Dancer and Light Spinner, she is one of the top Poi Performers in Canada. A member of the Vancouver Theatre Sports Rookie League and a recent graduate of the University of British Columbia’s BFA Acting Program, Barbara Beall is an active member of Vancouver’s vibrant arts community.
