OIAF Shows Some Love

(February 14, 2020 – Ottawa, ON) The Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) has chosen today, Valentine’s Day, to open submissions to its 2020 festival. This year, North America’s largest and oldest animation event will take place from September 23 to 27.
The invitation extends to animators worldwide to submit their recent work to the following six competitions: Feature Animation, Virtual Reality, Animated Series, Short Animation (Narrative, Non-Narrative, Student, Commissioned), Young Audiences (pre-school, ages 6-12), Canadian Student.
There is no entry fee and the entry deadline is May 31. There is no entry fee. The submission form , all the rules and regulations, a list of this year’s categories, and an FAQ page can be found online starting today.
Each year the OIAF’s programming team receives more than 2,400 entries. Approximately, 100 films will be chosen as competition finalists and will be notified between late June to early July. Another 40-50 films will be screened as part of the out-of-competition panorama programmes.
Those selected films will be screened during OIAF20 and judged by international juries who will view the films alongside the audience during the festival.
