Street Legal – A First Look

(January 7, 2019 – Toronto, ON) CBC has released an exclusive first look at the highly anticipated revival of Street Legal. The new version features many of the original series cast including Cynthia Dale (pictured above) who reprises her role of Olivia Novak on the original series, which ran from 1987 to 1994.
The new Street Legal picks up 25 years after the original series where Novak is now a partner at a major Bay Street law firm. She is beaten to the punch on filing a massive class-action lawsuit by an upstart firm of young social-activist lawyers. She goes after the firm as an acquisition target, but when her own firm goes down in a flame of egos and departing partners, she finds herself starting over at the boutique firm with new younger colleagues.
Some of the original cast members making guest appearances include Eric Peterson (“Leon Robinovitch”) and Anthony Sherwood (“Dillon Beck”). New cast members include Cara Ricketts (The Book of Negroes), Steve Lund (Haven) and Yvonne Chapman (The Crossing) as the next generation of Toronto lawyers.

Street Legal is co-produced by IGP and Broken Clown Productions. Bernie Zukerman (Remedy, King) is Executive Producer. Bruce Smith (19-2) is Executive Producer and Showrunner. Cynthia Dale and Rayne Zukerman are Producers. The highly anticipated return of Street Legal is set for Monday, March 4, 2019 at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) on CBC and the CBC Gem streaming service.
