Denis Ct is a Montrealbased producer director screenwriter and critic who has been a vital part of Qubecs independent lowbudget film scene both as director and collaborator on a series of distinct and original shorts His first featurelength film was the 2005 release iLes tats nordiquesi which told the story of a man who escapes to a small Arctic community after euthanizing his aged mother He is pictured above in a publicity still for his 2009 film emCarcassesem His 2013 drama emVic Flo ont vu un ours Vic Flo Saw a Bearem had its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival and won the prestigious Golden Bear Alfred Bauer Prize for innovation The award in memory of the festival founder was presented by jury president and acclaimed director Wong Kar Wai who said the film opened new perspectives Denis Ct is renowned for his work and as of March 2021 he has already had 20 retrospectives devoted to his work around the worldbrbrbr
