Margot Christie

Margot Christie began life as Marguerite Eliza Syme. Her last name changed when she married the actor and director Robert Christie in 1937. She is usually remembered for her role of Marilla Cuthbert in the 1956 film Anne of Green Gables and its 1958 reprise. She worked primarily during television’s Golden Age appearing in individual dramatic productions under the umbrella titles Scope, On Camera, Folio, Encounter and others. We have noted those titles after the title of the specific production in which Margot Christie appeared.
