Samantha Weinstein

Samantha Weinstein, pictured as Audrey in a publicity still for the 2012 feature Jesus Henry Christ, began her professional acting career in 2001 at the age of six. By 2008, at the age of thirteen, she had become a regular on the Toronto International Film Festival circuit with films having their world premiers at T.I.F.F. in five consecutive years. Siblings in 2004, Big Girl in 2005, Ninth Street Chronicles in 2006, The Stone Angel in 2007, and Toronto Stories in 2008. Big Girl won Best Canadian Short Film at the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival and the following year, in 2006, she became the youngest nominee and recipient of the prestigious ACTRA award, winning “Outstanding Performance-Female” for her work in Big Girl. Samantha Weinstein was 28 when she died of ovarian cancer at Toronto’s Princess Margaret Hospital
