Michael Wade

Michael Wade was a playwright, poet, singer and actor. He founded Newfoundland’s first Shakespeare company in 1984 which went on to produce more than 40 plays for the stage and radio. Michael also appeared in more than 50 other Newfoundland-based theatre productions. Although his work in film and television was infrequent his occasional appearances always made an impression. He was nominated for a Gemini for his work in Gullage`s and given a best actor Moonsnail Award at the 1996 Atlantic Film Festival. Michael Wade died of brain cancer.
