Benson Simmonds

Benson Simmonds is an award-winning actor who originally studied Meisner technique in New York, where he appeared Off-Broadway. He has worked in film and television and has a long list of theatre credits as well. He won a Leo Award in 2000 for Best Actor in the short film Applaud or Die. He was also nominated for best writer and best producer. His second short film, Blue Cat on the Wall was screened at the Montréal film festival and as of this writing (December 2005), he is also working on his third short film and completing a feature film script. In addition to his work as an actor, Simmonds runs a successful acting studio in Montréal teaching the technique of Ivana Chubbuck.
