James Rennie

James Rennie was both a stage and film actor, although his career on stage lasted far longer. His film debut came in 1920, one year after he appeared on Broadway in the play Moonlight and Honeysuckle. He made his last screen appearance in 1945 in the B-movie A Bell for Adano and never acted on film again. By then he had appeared in some 27 Broadway plays and continued his stage career making his last Broadway appearance in 1957. From 1920 to 1935 Rennie was married to silent film actress Dorothy Gish but their marriage ended in divorce. He appeared in the 1944 film, Wilson, which won five Academy Awards and tells the story of the U.S. President who had the idea to create the League of Nations. Wilson starred Canadian actor Alexander Knox in the title role.
