Danielle Ouimet was born Marie Lauda Danielle Ouimet. She was first a supermodel after being crowned “Miss Québec” at the age of 19. She had no theatrical training, but her natural and spontaneous acting led her to be cast in the title role of her first feature, Valerie in 1969. Thanks in part, or perhaps mainly to its erotic nature, Valerie caused a sensation and went on to be sold in 40 countries.
