Paul O’Sullivan was a staple in Toronto’s comedy community and a respected actor. Known for his involvement with The Second City, and for roles in The Red Green Show, Murdoch Mysteries, Dan for Mayor, and most recently Little Mosque on the Prairie, he was also a voice actor on a number of children’s animated series including George Shrinks. O’Sullivan, who had a wild, manic streak that was especially effective when he was working in improv, was known for his energy on stage. He is remembered in particular for his role as the hyper neo-Nazi Franz Liebkind in the Toronto production of The Producers. In addition to his time at Second City alumnus, appearing in acclaimed revues like Up Against The Wal-Mart), O’Sullivan was a former member of the sketch troupe Skippy’s Rangers and a part of the cast of local productions of The Drowsy Chaperone. Paul O’Sullivan, who was married to actor Linda Kash and had three daughters, died after a car accident about an hour north of their home in Peterborough, Ontario. He was 48.
