Dave Madden

Dave Madden was born in Canada but grew up in Port Huron, Michigan. Following the death of his father and due to his mother’s career, he was sent to live with his aunt and uncle in Terre Haute, Indiana when he was 8-years old. Later in life, after attending Indiana State Teachers College for just one semester, Madden dropped out in 1951 to enlist in the United States Air Force. He was assigned to Special Services and at one point was sent to Tripoli, Libya, where he was a hit as an entertainer in camp shows. Following his time in the USAF, Madden enrolled at the University of Miami, graduating with a degree in communications in 1959.He got his start on TV in the 1965 comedy series Camp Runamuck playing Counselor Pruett. He went on to be a regular part of the cast in 26 episodes of the madcap series Laugh-In. Madden is usually remembered for his role on the 1970s sitcom The Partridge Family, in which he played the group`s manager, Reuben Kincaid. He later had a recurring role as Earl Hicks, a regular diner customer on the mid-1970s to mid-1980s sitcom, Alice. He was receiving hospice care when he died at age 82 from complications of myelodysplastic syndrome.
