Tom Kneebone moved to England to study at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. After graduation, he went with the company on a 1963 North American tour. When the tour folded in New York, he went looking for work and ended up in Toronto, joining the Crest Theatre Company, where he performed in a production of She Stoops to Conquer. He later starred with the Canadian comic actor Barbara Hamilton in the hit revue That Hamilton Woman. Affectionately known as T.K., he was an internationally known and respected performer with a resume that included several appearances on Broadway, London’s West End, The Stratford and Shaw festivals in Ontario, as well as countless theatres across North America. He was awarded both the Order of Ontario and the Order of Canada. Primarily a stage performer, he made few movies and only a handful of TV appearances. Kneebone joined the Smile Theatre Company of Canada as Artistic Director in 1991. He is most often associated with Dinah Christie.
