Tom Harvey

Tom Hardy was born in Scotland and moved with his parents to Toronto shortly after. A veteran of WWII, Hardy set out to join the Navy to entertain the troops and brought laughter and relief to his fellow compatriots in troubled times. Known as a character actor, and comedy foil, he had studied broadcasting at Lorne Greene’s Academy of Radio Arts in the early ‘40s. In addition to his work in film and television it is thought that heb added his voice to more than 2000 radio dramas beginning in 1948. Tom Hardy is usually remembered by those of a certain age for his work in The Luck of Ginger Coffey, Wayne and Shuster, Bizarre/Super Dave, Strange Brew, and his last role in Sarah Polley’s Away from Her.
