Amanda Brugel attended the Theatre Program at York University with a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2000. Best known for her role as Michelle Krasnoff in the Canadian comedy series Seed (2013–2014), Brugel co-starred as Vanessa in the 2013 comedy film Sex After Kids, which brought her an ACTRA Award for Best Female Performance. She plays the role of Rita on the award-winning series, The Handmaid’s Tale.
