Charles Arling began life as Charles F. Parr and was a stage actor. His only Broadway credit was for 1903’s operetta revival Ermine, which opened on October 19 and closed November 28. Like many stage actors of the time he was lured into movies. He made Little Band of Gold at Mack Sennett’s Keystone Studios and in 1919 he costarred in Back to God’s Country, an important film in the career of Nell Shipman. His entire film career was confined to the silent era and lasted just 10 years when he passed away at age 41 in 1922.
