Set in modern day Montréal and adapted from the classic Greek tragedy of the same name, Antigone helps her brother to escape from prison. But she is now in the grip of the authorities and has little choice but to confront the police and the criminal justice system. A brilliant teenager with an unblemished past, Antigone sees the law of men tightening around her. A story that is both a commentary on the immigrant experience in contemporary Montréal and of a woman’s quest for justice, Antigone must rely on her own sense of justice, which is dictated by love and solidarity.
