Max lived an ordinary life with Alice and their son Théo—until Alice winds up in hospital, dying as she waits for a new heart that isn’t coming. Max promises Théo that he will save her. But to do so, he needs to find a heart—and fast. Faced with the urgency of his mission, Max decides to reconnect with his troubled past. It is a decision that will have unimaginable repercussions on his life. Returning to his old haunts, Max plunges back into a turbulent world where danger is part and parcel of everyday life. Almost immediately, he commits an unforgivable act in the course of getting a new heart for Alice. Now he`s desperate to deliver the precious organ in time to save her, while being relentlessly pursued by both the police and organized crime. To make matters worse—and despite his mission—a long-dormant passion is unexpectedly reignited when he meets up again with his old flame, Morgane. What with Alice, Morgane and Théo, Max finds his life spiralling out of control. As the police and underworld force him into a corner, Morgane urges him to attempt a daring series of acts to escape. But should he trust this temptress who could end up stealing both of his hearts?
