The Captive is a psychological thriller about a father (played by Ryan Reynolds), who believes his daughter is still alive eight years after she was kidnapped and sets out to search for her. Mireille Enos (The Killing) plays his wife, who checks in with the police once a year on her daughter’s birthday. She comes to discover that disturbing memorabilia left at her workplace are actually clues leading to her daughter’s whereabouts. This is an original work by Atom Egoyan, with screenplay assistance provided by David Fraser, who wrote the Gemini-nominated Eight Days to Live in 2006.
