Ask an actor what's one of the most valuable assets they can offer a director and you'll often hear the word versatility. Take Sylvie Potvin, for example. She portrayed the vampire baroness in the horror-comedy classic Karmina, was a tap-dancing parakeet in the popular children’s series Cornemuse, and played the larger-than-life Linda Gaudette in the off-the-wall TV cult hit La petite vie. She appeared in Yves Simoneau's Free Money (with Marlon Brando and Donald Sutherland), and, after appearing as the goaltender’s wife in the madcap feature film series Les Boys, she currently stars in the spin-off TV series about an amateur hockey league, now in its third season. She also stars in the new sitcom Rock et Rolland, opposite comedic legend Michel Barrette. Sylvie Potvin has performed on stage at Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, Théâtre La Licorne and Théâtre du Rideau Vert, and is touring Québec in a production of Molière’s Le Malade imaginaire. In a career that spans some 30 years, she has truly emerged as one of Québec’s most celebrated comedic actresses. She has also spent some 20 years as a performer and coach with the celebrated improv group Ligue nationale d'improvisation touring Argentina, Europe and West Africa. More recently she appeared as a celebrity judge on the Just For Laughs stand-up comedy reality series En route vers mon premier gala Juste pour rire.
