Highlights for the nominations include
Coteau Rouge, which was close on the heels of Monsieur Lazhar taking eight nominations, including Best Picture, Best Screenplay and a Best Actress nod for Céline Bonnier). It was followed by Café de Flore with seven nominations. Jean-Marc Vallée picked up a nomination for Best Director. Unfortunately there is no award for best use of music, as Café de Flore certainly would have got my vote for that.
Three titles each landed six noiminations each. They are Pour l’amour de Dieu, Starbuck and Une vie qui commence.
Le vendeur received five nominations including one for Best Film. An excellent performance by Gilbert Sicotte also brought a Best Actor nomination.
Le sens de l’humour picked up four niminations as did Frisson des collines.
Three films each received three nominations. They are the musical biopic, Gerry, which picked up the last of five Best Actor nominations for Mario Saint-Amand. La run was nominated for Best Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor and Best Editing. Finally, Nuit #1 was nominated for Best Film, best direction and Catherine De Léan was given a nomination for Best Actress.
