The "So You Think You Can Dance Canada" Judge, who has had roles usually as a dancer in a number of films, works tirelessly through the Tré Armstrong Give Back Foundation, teaching youth through dance and workshops the importance of feeling good about themselves, not letting the past hold them hostage, but allowing the future to set them free.
A publicity statement read, in part, "Tré'a vision, spirit and strength are a guiding light to those around her, at home and abroad. Ms. Armstrong is deeply honored and humbled to receive this award."
Other guests at this Saturday's event include the past Governor General of Canada, Her Excellency the Right Honorable Michaelle Jean, Mr. Jean-Daniel Lafond and his Royal Highness, Prince Seeiso Bereng Seeiso of Lesotho.
Armstrong will return to the nation's capital to take part in Fashion Week that runs from February 17th to 19th. She will join many other celebrities to walk the runway for a special fashion show, Sunday, February 19th, 2012, in support of Fashion Week's charitable partner, UNICEFF CANADA.
